Steve Dyer was inducted as Pastor of the Mission Cwmtwrch on the 5th October 2019. We have been blessed to know Steve and his family since 2004 and we give thanks to God that He has called Steve to serve and minister amongst us.

Here is that calling in Steve's own words.

"My Christian life can be built around the four callings the Lord Jesus has given me:

The first calling was my call to follow Jesus. Growing up, I always knew that there was a God, but I knew that if I wanted to know Him personally, I needed to read the Bible - which I started at the age of 11. It was not until I was 18 that I understood the saving work of Jesus for me personally and accepted the invitation to come and follow Him (Mark 1:17).

The second calling was to marry my wife, Bec. As the Lord created Eve and brought her to Adam so the Lord created Bec and brought her to me. It was very clear to us both that the Lord had created us for each other and, apart from the Lord, Bec is the greatest gift that I have ever had. As Solomon says in the Song of Songs about his bride, 'You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you'. (4:7)

The third calling was my call to be a gospel preacher. Right from my conversion I surrendered all to Jesus. I look back ay my early prayer life where I said and still say today that there is nowhere that I would not go for Him and nothing I would not do for Him. But the call was clarified when flying to Liberia in January 2005 for my first overseas mission trip. I was reading Billy Graham's autobiography and, as I read about him preaching Christ, I just started to cry on the plane uncontrollably - knowing this was my future! The day I was teaching for the first time in Liberia my morning reading was 2 Timothy 4:2 - 'Preach the Word'. When I returned from Liberia the first passage of Scripture read in church was 1 Corinthians 9:16 - 'Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel'.

The fourth calling was the call to start and strengthen churches. This came in 2007 when the Lord spoke to me mainly through my study of the book of Colossians. A passion to start and strengthen churches in areas where others have not been or don't want to go. (Romans 15:20)! That's why I am a part of Waleswide and the Pastors Training International ministry in North India, where we look to equip local pastors and church planters to preach the Word where Christ has not already been named".

At The Mission in Cwmtwrch, a warm welcome awaits you whether you are looking to join us as your local church, if you are on holiday or just passing through.
